Clinical and Cost/Effectiveness of Pressure Ulcer Prevention using Prophylactic Silicone Dressings

The use of prophylactic dressings to prevent hospital acquired pressure injuries has become increasingly common internationally over the past 10-years in intensive care setting.  This presentation will summarise strength of evidence of the current clinical and cost effectiveness literature for this preventative technique.  Particular emphasis will be given to emerging literature demonstrating the effectiveness of the use of dressings to prevent pressure injuries in other settings such as the general hospital population as well as the aged care/nursing home setting.
